We really enjoyed our stay. The boat and the dock provided a lot of entertainment for the girls. Hope we can come back soon

Santa Fe, New Mexico - May 2007

Thank you for the opportunity to stay at Lake Champlain! It was the perfect place to stay while we visited family in Middlebury. We took the kids to the Maritine Museum at Basin Harbor, to visit the Alpacas, fishing at Fern Lake and swimming at Lake Dunmore. We experienced a few very memorable firsts for our little boys- their first fish ever caught and the first chance to watch and catch fireflies. It was a trip we won't soon forget- thank you.

Petaluma, CA - June 2007

We enjoyed our stay in Vermont and the fishing! Nice, quiet and relaxing. Hope to visit again soon! Thanks.

Boyertown, PA -  June, 2007

... Every dawn and sunset were different and it was relaxing to enjoy a pace more geared to nature. Our dog, Daphne enjoyed playing Frisbee near the apple and plum trees....We look forward to coming again to continue exploring the byways of Addison County.

Bethesda, MD - July 2007

... The meteor  showers rained down for three nights.
We reclined on the lawn to view shooting star lights.
Between water skiing and tubing we laughed quite a lot.
We all did enjoy our Vermont lakeside spot!
Though we brought with us thousands and thousands of lures,
We never caught Champ on the Lake Champlain shores.
As we leave for New Jersey there's a tear in each eye,
We loved our vacation and say happy GOOD-BYE!

The adults loved the peace and quiet of the early morning on Lake Champlain.

A wonderful return for us to lovely Addison County. Dophine enjoyed herself with new frisbees. We loved the sunrises, sunsets, and even the spectacular thunderstorms. A great comfortable getaway for us....P.S. We love the pair of herons that are nesting nearby. They fly over at 5:15 -5:20 a.m. most days.

Bethesda, MD - July 2008

These views fill my soul, and your house makes me feel like I'm at 'home'.

Rutherford, NJ - August, 2008

What a restful week! We biked the rail trail in Burlington (20 miles), hiked the long trail in the Middlebury Snow Bowl area (straight up + straight down); rode bikes around the trail around Middlebury- very tough on a bike, and finally hiked Wright Park/Otter Falls section of the TAM (much easier on foot than on bike). In between we ate great food, relaxed, listened to Presidential debate #1 and watched birds around the lake-side. Great place!

Radnor, PA & Ipswich, MA - September, 2008

This home in front of the lake made a wonderful honeymoon! We listened to the music while cooking and eating, it was very memorable. Especially with the sun setting on the lake and the sunshine on the mountains. We took a drive to Ausable Chasm. It was very unforgetable, we would definately recommend it. The kayak provided made a wonderful, peaceful and beautiful time spent out on the lake, enjoying birds out on the water. To warm up we cuddled in front of the fireplace and enjoyed each others time. We played the board games, we had a blast! Despite the tourist attractions being closed for the season we had an incredible experience. Thank you so much for providing a get away.

PA - October, 2008

We fell in love with the area a year ago and 2008 brought an Thanksgiving invite. It was the perfect opportunity to see Lake Champlain in the winter....Thanks for sharing this special location and your comfortable home- you've thought of everything.

Happy New Year! Thank you for giving our family the opportunity to ring in the new year at our home. We've had a wonderful time touring Vermont. We drove up to Stowe, visited the Vermont Teddy Bear Factory, Ben & Jerry's Factory and Dankin Farms in one day. We ate our New Years Eve meal at Fire & Ice where we dined on Surf and Turf! ....Spent the days skiing in Killington and our evenings were spent playing cards, games, or watching a great movie. We enjoyed the serenity of the area. The frozen lake was beautiful! The kids enjoyed sledding on the hill...Thanks again!

Blue Bell, PA - January, 2009

We arrived during a major snowstorm, 16 inches, and felt at home immediately. Our son graduated from Middlebury College, skiing down the snow bowl as a finale!....Vergennes is a great town, we dined at the Black Sheep Bistro (you need to go) Four Squares diner and Luigi's Pizza. Our stay was filled with love and laughter and memories we will have forever. P.S. We went sliding with our niece and nephew and they loved it!

The views are beautiful! Your home truly feels like a home, and there is nothing better when traveling. Vermont is a most beautiful state- a veritable step back in time. We are finally rested, relaxed, and recharged- ready to go back to the rat race once again

Oldenburg, IN - Sept, 2009

We really enjoyed the house with everything we needed. The power went out and the owner helped us to deal with it. If you get a chance, go to the Black Sheep Bistro in Vergennes for dinner- what a treat. The kayak and canoes were great fun on the lake. A hike up Snake Mountain is totally worth the view. We are already to come back in August to raft down the Ausable Chasm- what a gorgeous place. The dining room table afforded ample space for our family reunion as we gathered around to share memories and catch up on life happenings. This was our first trip to Lake Champlain and we will be back!

Bloomfield, CT - October, 2009

My parents and my husband and I greatly enjoyed staying at this wonderful lake house. We felt welcomed and relaxed the entire time. We were in awe of the beautiful starry sky at night and the gorgeous farms around. We enjoyed our 3+ mile walks around the area.....We had a blast making s'mores around our camp fire down by the water and marveled at the peacefullness the lake provided. We enjoyed many outings of apple picking at Champlain Orchards.

Butler, NJ - October, 2009

We came for a Middlebury graduation and decided to stay for a week. It was wonderful coming back to this oasis place, after all the festivities. We loved all the birds, the sunsets and the amenities of this fine home. We already have recommended it too others and are hoping that we too will return. We especially appreciated the high quality of the appliances and your thoughtfulness providing things like bird guides, children games and VCR’s. Thanks for letting us have a memorable time!

……..My three girls enjoyed fishing every night. They caught blue gill, small large mouth bass and perch. We took canoe rides too! We enjoyed swimming at Lake Dunmore and visited Button Bay State Park. We shopped in Middlebury and Shelburne. We had two nice dinners: one at The Inn at Baldwin Creek [Bristol] and one at The Black Sheep Bistro [Bristol]. We enjoyed driving from place to place and looking at the beautiful countryside. This place is great place for a family vacation!

 Harleysville PA- July, 2010

We enjoyed our stay on Way Lane. This is our third visit to Vermont, but our first stay on Lake Champlain. The view is beautiful with the lake and the mountain. It can’t be better.

The weather was pretty cloudy, but we made the best of it. Went on two great hikes in the Green Mountains Abbey Pond Trail and Rattlesnake Cliff trail. Both wonderful.

Went to a wonderful restaurant called Tourterelle in New Haven. Wonderful French cuisine. Highly recommend it though it is a bit pricey.

Thanks for a wonderful, comfortable and well equipped house.

We had a great time.

 Laytonsville, MD- August, 2010

Hello Duane! Once again [4th year] we thoroughly enjoyed the lovely quiet of 210 Way Lane. The bucolic scene of bay and lake was as nice as ever, despite the enlarged area of lake weed. Bird watching was even more rewarding than before, given daily heron sightings near or on or walking to the dock. Twice we saw a heron actually catch a fish! Then there were the dawn flights of ducks and geese, the various types of small and large gulls and occasionally, a hawk, an osprey, a raven and assorted crows. Background sounds included frogs, songbirds, a rooster or two and the melancholy trains whistle. We love the early mornings here, not least for the cloud formations and streaks of color.

Barbara enjoys cooking more than ever, especially doting on the new stove with it’s marvelous oven. Our house guests admired the house and of course the bay, lake and mountain views, as well as a heron sighting, for which one usually should arise just before sunrise.

The carved stump bears by the barn are cute and the plaque announcing ‘herons watch’ is quite fitting. Daphine the dog enjoyed catching Frisbees out back, although she overdid it one day, and had to be checked out by the good vet in Vergennes. She probably twisted her neck somewhat but soon was fine the next day.

We had good times in Middlebury, especially at the farmers’ market and in the shops and bookstores. The fiction holdings in the Monroe Street bookstore are fantastic! But it was always pleasant to return to Way Lane after the bustle and noise of town.
